a brief History of miles for ministry

In 2016, Fr Brandon Oman the chaplain of CCM and an avid biker, armed with a team of CCM alumni and students, hit the streets (and trails) to raise funds for Campus Ministry by biking the famous Ore to Shore: a 48-mile bike race starting in Negaunee and following the Iron Ore Heritage trail all the way to the shore line of Lake Superior in Marquette.

In 2019, he ran the Marquette Half Marathon, preparing to hand off the torch to the next campus minister.
2024: A Multi-Parish Relay!
In 2020, CCM had to get creative due to COVID and the cancellation of the Marquette Half Marathon. The solution: invent our own 31-mile relay race from one Catholic parish to the next! This became a great opportunity to invite more people to get involved in supporting CCM, especially from our local parishes, where many of our students come from!

Fr. Dustin, our current Chaplain, has been running or biking various legs of this relay ever since, joined by a growing number of students, alumni, and friends of CCM! This year will be no different:
